Daily Life of a Instructional Supervisor

Ricardo (Canada) Otemachi Unit / Instructional Supervisor
Message : I have a Bachelors Degree in Education. As an instructional supervisor, I am responsible for recruiting, training, and scheduling at the Otemachi Unit. We are committed to providing the highest level of instruction for students of all levels in our Language Centers.

11:00am- Management

My day starts with checking in by phone with the other Language Center in the unit to see how everything is going so far today. Next I read and respond to email, and then review my schedule for the day.

1:00pm- Support

A teacher stops by my office to tell me that last night she taught a student who had some trouble picking up an important grammar point and was wondering how she could teach more effectively in the future. We talk about ways to introduce the grammar as well as ways to practice it more in class so that the student can then use it independently.

3:15pm- Scheduling

All the customers who want to book or cancel lessons for the coming day have done so by 3:00pm so it's time to start finalizing the instructors' schedules for tomorrow.

7:45pm- Instruction

Maintaining instruction quality is my top priority. 7:45pm is the busiest time of the day for us as many customers can only take lessons in the evening. Even after a long day at work, our customers still are motivated to learn.
